CCC Privacy Policy
Updated: 02 March 2026
The Canadian Creators Collective (“CCC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is based in Québec, Canada, and operates https://cccollective.org (the “Website”) along with related programs, events, and community services (collectively, the “Services”).
This Privacy Policy explains how the CCC collect, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
By accessing or using the Website or participating in our Services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected by the CCC through the Website, through communications with the CCC (such as email or online forms), and through participation in CCC programs, memberships, activities, or events.
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, “personal information” means any information about an identifiable individual, except for business contact information where the context of collection is limited to professional or work-related communications. We limit our collection of personal information to what is adequate, relevant, and necessary for the purposes identified below.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 13.
2.1 Membership Information
If you apply to participate in CCC’s community, services, or membership opportunities, we may collect personal information through application forms or surveys, such as your name, contact details (email, phone, mailing address), website links, social media handles, and portfolio or work samples.
We collect this information to assess participation eligibility, to communicate important updates about CCC activities, and to support CCC’s community initiatives. We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil these purposes or as required by law. When the information is no longer needed, we securely destroy it or ensure it is anonymised.
Where you choose to make certain information public (such as professional profiles or portfolio links), the CCC may display that information on the Website or in related materials to promote community members and their work. We make reasonable efforts to ensure that publicly displayed information remains accurate.
2.2 Awards Programs
If you apply for, are nominated for, or participate in an award, grant, recognition program, or similar initiative administered by the CCC (an “Awards Program”), we may collect personal and academic information necessary to evaluate eligibility, which may include transcripts or supporting documentation.
This information is used exclusively for the purposes of assessing the application and is reviewed only by individuals involved in the selection process. It is not reused for any other purpose without the applicant’s express consent and prior knowledge. Personal information collected for awards is securely destroyed once the applicable program has concluded, unless retention is required by law or record-keeping is necessary for the purposes of confirming eligibility.
2.3 Statistical and Aggregated Data
We may collect and analyse demographic, behavioural, and usage information about visitors to the Website and participants in CCC activities to understand how our Services are used and to improve our offerings. This may include data collected through analytics tools. Any data we share publicly is aggregated and anonymised; it does not identify individuals.
2.4 Marketing and Communications
With your express consent, we may use your contact information to send newsletters, event announcements, or other updates about the CCC. You may withdraw this consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us directly. As part of this process, you are always given the option to control how your contact information is used and by whom.
2.5 Payment Information
The CCC uses Snipcart and PayPal as third-party payment processors to process payments made through the Website. Payment information, including credit card details and billing information, is collected directly by Snipcart and PayPal is not stored by the CCC.
The CCC retains only limited payment-related information, such as transaction records and the last four digits of a credit card, for accounting and financial recordkeeping purposes. Use of Snipcart and PayPal is subject to Snipcart’s and PayPal’s own terms and privacy policy.
By providing personal information to the CCC — for example, through website interactions or forms — you consent to its collection, use, and disclosure as described in this Privacy Policy. Where required by law (including Québec’s Law 25), you may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us using the information below.
4.1 Service Providers
The CCC engages third-party service providers to assist with website hosting, analytics, communications, and administrative support. We disclose personal information to these providers only to the extent necessary for them to perform their services. These providers are contractually required to protect personal information and use it only for purposes related to providing services to the CCC.
For example, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our Website. Such tools may collect demographic or interest-based reports in an anonymised form to help improve site content and performance. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using tools provided by Google
4.2 With Your Consent
If we need to use or disclose personal information for purposes not described in this Policy, we will notify you and obtain your prior consent when required by law.
The Website uses cookies and similar technologies to support functionality, remember user preferences, and analyse Website traffic. You may control the use of cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling cookies may affect the availability or functionality of certain features of the Website.
The CCC does not sell personal information. Personal information may be disclosed to trusted service providers who assist us with Website hosting, communications, or analytics, and only to the extent necessary for them to perform their services. We may also disclose personal information where required by law, to comply with legal processes, or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of the CCC or others. In all other cases, personal information is disclosed only with your consent.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, unauthorised access, disclosure, or use. Despite these measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Personal information is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law. Once it is no longer required, the information is securely destroyed or anonymised.
Our Website may include hyperlinks to other websites, platforms, or applications that are independent of the CCC. These links are provided for convenience; we do not control external sites, and they have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any external site you visit.
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access your personal information, request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information, withdraw consent where applicable, and request the deletion of personal information, subject to legal obligations. Requests may be made by contacting us using the information below, and we will respond within the timeframes required by law.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
